Vivo Y36 5G vs Oppo A78 5G: Know the Price in India, Specifications

Vivo Y36 was launched in India on June 20. The 5G smartphone from Vivo Y series is powered by a Snapdragon 680 SoC, and coupled with 8GB of RAM. It gets a dual rear camera unit led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor. The phone is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with 44W fast charging support. On the other hand, Oppo A78 5G was launched in India in January this year, and runs on a MediaTek Helio 700 SoC. The smartphone comes with a 5,000mAh battery, and support for 33W SuperVOOC fast charging.
Both Oppo A78 and Vivo Y36 are 5G smartphones, and here's a comparison between the two smartphones to know about the pricing and specifications similarities and differences.
The Vivo Y36 5G was launched in India in a single storage configuration, coupled with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage. The smartphone comes at a price of Rs. 16,999 and is available in two colour variants — Meteor Black and Vibrant Gold.
Similarly, the Oppo A78 5G is also available in a sole 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, marked at Rs. 18,999. It is offered in Glowing Black and Glowing Blue colour options.
The smartphones from Vivo and Oppo come with several similarities. Vivo Y36 as well as Oppo A78 have support for dual sim (Nano) and run on Android 13-based operating systems. While Vivo Y36 runs on Funtouch OS 13, the Oppo A78 5G runs on ColorOS 13.
The Vivo Y36 features a 6.64-inch full-HD+ (1,080x2,388 pixels) LCD display. Oppo A78, on the other hand, sports a 6.56-inch HD+ (720x1,1612 pixels) IPS LCD screen. In terms of processor, the Vivo Y36 is powered by a Snapdragon 680 SoC, while Oppo A78 gets a 7nm MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC.
Talking about the camera, both smartphones get a 50-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel sensor on the rear. However, for front cameras, Oppo A78 and Vivo Y36 sport an 8-megapixel and a 16-megapixel selfie shooter, respectively.

Amazon, earlier this week, made an announcement to allow customers to exchange their Rs. 2,000 notes. The statement came after the Reserve Bank of India on May 19 decided to withdraw all the Rs. 2,000 currency notes from circulation under its Clean Note Policy. According to the official statement by Amazon, the company will let customers top up their Amazon Pay balances using Rs. 2,000 notes during cash-on-delivery orders. The leftover change can be loaded to the Amazon Pay wallet.
The e-commerce giant has specified that customers can deposit a maximum amount of Rs. 50,000 per month, including notes of Rs. 2,000 denomination.

The amount updated on the Amazon Pay wallet can be used for online shopping, or paying using QRs, doing recharges, sending money to friends and family or digital payments on apps like Swiggy and Zomato.
The facility to exchange or update Amazon Pay balance with Rs. 2,000 note is only available for KYCed customers. Hence, it is important for the customers to get the KYC process done before initiating the exchange.

WhatsApp is making it easier for users to reject unwanted calls. The instant messaging app from Meta now allows to users to silence spam calls from unknown contacts. These calls can also be from numbers not saved in your contact list. The feature was announced earlier last week, and is available on the stable versions of WhatsApp for mobile apps, for both Android and iOS. The users will still be able to see when they miss a call from unknown numbers.
In an announcement last week, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced a new feature that allows WhatsApp users to silence incoming calls from unknown contacts. The feature is currently available on stable versions for both WhatsApp for Android and iOS.
While users will continue to receive this calls, or a notification for a missed call if they fail to see it, silencing the calls from unknown numbers can avoid disturbances as these calls will not ring.

Android users can access the 'Settings' by clicking on the there-dot option, while iPhone users can select the gear icon to reach the 'Settings' menu.
Also, the users can also disable the toggle for 'Silence Unknown Calls' if they wish to continue to hear the calls from contacts that are not saved in their contacts, including spam calls.
Alternatively, users can opt to choose to save the numbers in their contact lists if they do not wish to miss important calls from known numbers that are not saved.
