Realme is gearing up for the launch of a new GT Neo series phone in China. Expected to be names as Realme GT Neo 6, the smartphone's design and specifications have been hinted on the internet. The leaked details suggest that the purported Realme GT Neo 6 could get a dual-toned back panel. Recently, the phone's specifications were also tipped, revealing 100W fast charging support and a 1.5K display with 144Hz refresh rate. However, any of these leaked details are yet to be officially confirmed.

Elon Musk's Twitter Puts Temporary Limit on Number of Tweets: Here's What It Means

Elon Musk's Twitter has put a temporary limit on the number of tweets that users can see each day, a move that has sparked some backlash and could undermine the social network's efforts to attract advertisers.
The limit, imposed to "address extreme levels of data scraping and system manipulation", is the latest change by Twitter, which was last year acquired by Musk for $44 billion (nearly Rs. 3,60,550 crore).
What does the latest change mean and what are the alternatives to Twitter?
How do the changes impact users?
Users cannot view tweets without logging in to the platform. Verified accounts can now read 6,000 posts per day, unverified accounts 600 posts and new un-verified accounts 300 posts. After that, users will get a message that says, "rate limit exceeded".
Musk has said that limit will "soon" increase to 10,000 for verified, 1,000 for unverified and 500 for new unverified.
He has been pushing to make Twitter's overhauled verified service more attractive. Musk made Twitter verified — special badges that were earlier given to notable profiles — a paid subscription and introduced tiers like gray, blue and golden badges.
Why did Musk put the limit?
Musk said the limits would help tackle scraping vast amounts of data from Twitter by almost everyone — from AI companies and startups to tech behemoths.
"It is rather galling to have to bring large numbers of servers online on an emergency basis just to facilitate some AI startup's outrageous valuation," he said in a tweet.
The technology behind generative AI tools such as ChatGPT is trained on massive amounts of data taken from the internet that helps produce everything from poems to pictures.
What are users saying?
Several Twitter users complained, with "#TwitterDown" and "RIP Twitter" trending on the social network website over the past couple of days.
The limits especially impact accounts run by informational agencies, journalists and monitoring services as they rely on reviewing thousands of tweets every day.
The National Weather Service said it may be unable to see tweeted reports of severe weather and associated damage, and asked subscribers to use its office telephone numbers instead.
What are the alternatives?
Twitter-like platforms like Bluesky and Mastodon are the main alternatives. They saw a surge in users and activity soon after Musk announced the limits.
Bluesky, launched by Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey and now in the beta mode, said it saw "record high traffic" on Saturday and that it was temporarily pausing new sign-ups.
Mastodon also saw its active user base swell by 110,000 on that day, its creator and CEO Eugen Rochko said.

Tesla's Plug Made Compulsory in Kentucky for EV Charging Companies

Kentucky is requiring that electric vehicle charging companies include Tesla's plug if they want to be part of a state program to electrify highways using federal dollars, according to documents reviewed by Reuters.
Kentucky's plan went into effect on Friday, making it the first state to mandate Tesla's charging technology, although Texas and Washington states previously shared such plans with Reuters.
In addition to federal requirements for the rival Combined Charging System (CCS), Kentucky mandates Tesla's plug, called the North American Charging Standard (NACS), at charging stations, according to Kentucky's request for proposal (RFP) for the state's EV charging program on Friday.
"Each port must be equipped with an SAE CCS 1 connector. Each port shall also be capable of connecting to and charging vehicles equipped with charging ports compliant with the North American Charging Standard (NACS)," the documents say.
Tesla, the dominant EV maker in the United States, has scored a string of victories for its charging technology in recent weeks, starting with Ford Motor, saying it would adopt NACS.
But a group of EV charger makers and operators is pushing back against Texas' plan to mandate the inclusion of Tesla technology in charging stations, saying it is "premature," according to a document seen by Reuters.
"Time is needed to properly standardize, test, and certify the safety and interoperability of Tesla connectors across the industry," they said in a letter to the Texas Transportation Commission.
The US Department of Transportation earlier this year said that charging companies must provide CCS plugs to be eligible for federal funding to deploy 5,00,000 EV chargers by 2030.
It added that the rule allows charging stations to have other connectors, as long as they support CCS, a national standard.
The National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Program (NEVI) provides $5 billion (nearly Rs. 40,970 crore) to states.

Tecno Phantom V Flip Clamshell Foldable Spotted on FCC; Battery and Charging Details Hinted: Report

With the launch of Tecno's first foldable smartphone called the Phantom V Fold, the smartphone brand now seems to be gearing up for the launch of a smaller foldable product, the Tecno Phantom V Flip. As spotted in a previous report, the phone was then tagged as the Tecno Phantom V Yoga. Photos of the clamshell foldable had leaked out suggesting the upcoming handset's design and rear camera setup along with its model number and storage variant. A foldable with the same model number has now reportedly shown up at the FCC hinting at some additional details about this foldable.
First spotted by GizmoChina, a handset tagged with the same model number as the Phantom V Yoga, has made an appearance on the FCC's website. The smartphone, which is now being referred to as the Phantom V Flip by the source, is said to be listed with the model number AD11, which is the same as the Phantom V Yoga.
What has also been hinted in this FCC listing is the phone's RAM and storage capacity. The foldable currently being tested is said to have 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, that is the same as the handset in the previous report. Also suggested from this listing are the phone's connectivity options, which include support for 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G networks along with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
There are also details regarding the phone's battery capacity and charging speed. The Tecno Phantom V Flip, like most foldables, is said to have its battery split up and placed in its two halves. One of the batteries is listed to be a 1,165 mAh unit and the second has a capacity of 2,735 mAh, as per the report. The phone is said to offer 45W fast-charging support that seems to be the same charger used for the currently available Tecno Phantom V Fold horizontal folding smartphone.
According to a previous report, the Tecno Phantom V Flip is said to have a MediaTek Dimensity 8050 SoC and will have a 6.75-inch AMOLED inner folding panel with a 144Hz maximum screen refresh rate. Unlike most clamshell foldables in this category, it will not have an external cover display, which is probably to keep the costs down. According to the source, the phone may end up having a dual rear camera setup with a primary 64-megapixel shooter and a 32-megapixel selfie camera on the inside.
Twitter Alternative Mastodon Sees Surge in Activity After Elon Musk Imposes Tweet Read Limits

Turmoil at Twitter following new limits to the amount of posts users can see appears to be driving a surge in activity at Mastodon, a German rival that prides itself on its decentralised, user-driven structure.
"Looks like Mastodon's active user base has increased by 110K (110,000) over the last day. Not bad," Eugen Rochko, creator and chief executive of Mastodon, wrote on the platform late on Sunday.
"I would prefer it if Elon Musk was destroying his site during the work week. This isn't the first time," another post from Rochko read.
On Saturday, Twitter boss Elon Musk announced new limits on the number of posts accounts can read in a day. Previously, he had expressed displeasure with artificial intelligence firms like OpenAI, the owner of ChatGPT, for using Twitter's data to train their large language models.
Musk took over Twitter in October 2022. Since then, his erratic management style has prompted some users and advertisers to turn away from the site.
Mastodon has similar features to Twitter but rather than being controlled by one company, it is installed on thousands of computer servers, largely run by volunteer administrators who join their systems together in a federation.
On Monday, marketing industry professionals said Musk's move to temporarily cap how many posts Twitter users can read on the social media site could undermine efforts by the company's new Chief Executive Linda Yaccarino to attract advertisers.
Yaccarino has sought to repair relationships with advertisers who pulled away from the site after Musk bought it last year, the Financial Times reported last week.
The limits are "remarkably bad" for users and advertisers already shaken by the "chaos" Musk has brought to the platform, Mike Proulx, research director at Forrester, said on Sunday.
